Hotel Pick-Up in Cusco | 4:30 – 5:00 a.m.
We will begin the day with pick-up from your hotel in Cusco between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m. From there, we will travel south through the beautiful Andean countryside, passing small local communities, valleys, and mountain scenery along the way.
Breakfast in Cusipata | Approx. 7:00 a.m.
After a few hours on the road, we will stop in the town of Cusipata to enjoy a nutritious breakfast at a local restaurant. This is the perfect moment to get energized before continuing toward the Palcoyo trailhead.
Scenic Drive to Palcoyo Mountain
After breakfast, we continue our journey toward Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain, enjoying panoramic views of the Andes, alpaca herds, rural villages, and impressive mountain landscapes. The drive from Cusco to Palcoyo takes approximately 3.5 hours in total.
Guided Hike through Palcoyo Rainbow Mountain | Approx. 1.5 – 2 hours
Once we arrive at the trailhead, your guide will lead you on a gentle hike through the colorful landscapes of Palcoyo Mountain. Unlike the classic Rainbow Mountain hike, Palcoyo offers a more accessible route with less physical effort, making it a great option for families, beginners, and travelers who prefer a relaxed experience.
During the walk, you will visit several viewpoints where you can admire the natural rainbow-colored mountains, formed by mineral layers in shades of red, yellow, green, white, and ochre. You will also have time to explore the impressive Stone Forest, one of the most unique highlights of the Palcoyo area.
Your guide will share information about the geology, local culture, and Andean traditions of the region, while giving you enough time to take photos and enjoy the peaceful mountain scenery.
Buffet Lunch in Cusipata
After exploring Palcoyo, we will return to Cusipata for a well-deserved buffet lunch. You can enjoy a variety of Peruvian dishes, with options available for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets upon request.

After lunch, we will begin the return trip to Cusco. Along the way, you can relax and enjoy the scenic Andean landscapes once more. We expect to arrive in Cusco around 4:30 p.m.
Drop-off is usually near the city center, but we can also arrange drop-off at your hotel, the airport, or the bus terminal if requested in advance.
